What’s that coming over the hill? Is it a monster?
No.
It’s a tonne of new client jobs to fill.
Sound familiar?
You’re not alone.
It’s an incredible feeling right now, as we begin to crawl out of our hibernation and the relative serenity of 17 odd years (or however long it’s been) locked down. The Summer of Love is fast approaching, where we’ll be able to legally hug our loved ones again, or our colleagues… or anyone who will let you.
As things are opening up again it has meant only one thing for recruitment, across all industries.
Jobs.
We are being inundated with new jobs; it’s like Willy Wonka’s factory but instead of chocolate there are jobs and most recruiters are now getting their Augustus Gloop on and taking on more work than they’ve had in a long old time.
Serious talk now though.
All this new work will surely lead to countless placements to make sure the Summer of Love is also the Summer of Commission. But the question that I cannot [AND WILL NOT] drop is why would you not be doing this for yourself?
Working hard to get placements over the line in order to fill the corporate war chest is all well and good… but you’ve proven you can run your own desk, you’ve proven you can manage your own time through working from home… is it time to start claiming more from life now?
Maybe it’s time you stopped hoping for a Golden ticket and started your own chocolate factory?
